Eating tapas is such a simple but distinct signature in Spanish culture. There’s a sort of premium put on tapas here in the Philippines however, because it is a foreign cuisine (of a former colonizer, in fact) and it is often presented as an appetizer. Since the client grew up eating tapas casually at home, they believed tapas should not have to be wildly expensive or fussy because the social culture surrounding it is fundamentally the same.
